Marathon Stripping: Now a Demonstration Event at the Sydney 2000 Olympics

“Curiosity… pom pom pom pompom…” Yes, I’ve thought of another song I want to make a hard rock version of: the theme from (the now sadly defunct) The Curiosity Show.

Tomorrow’s the big showdown with me and Ms. J, in our battle to find the longest country name. I’m sure I’ve got longer names than she has, but at least I’ve got the Welsh town of Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch as a backup. I wonder if I’ll even be able to say it. Hopefully the battle won’t get that bitter.

After my last shot at trying out a solarium in Geelong (see December 20th entry), I was a bit hesitant at going to another one. I’m not even sure why I’m going to a solarium in summer, but Ms. J has brainwashed me. Anyway, I tried out a different solarium and this one was much better, but they work a bit differently to the other one I went to. You have to tell them how much time you want to get undressed before they turn on the tanning bed. I did a bit of a quick calculation and estimated it’d only take me one minute to get changed.

Sure thing, said the guy. Then, once I got into the room with the tanning bed and locked the door behind me, I remembered that one minute is only sixty seconds. I did manage to get changed in time, but only just. (Bear in mind I was wearing all my work clothes including tie).

I’m still not sure about the whole solarium thing. I might just leave it to Ms. J and not worry about it. Also, there’s one thing I really don’t like about solariums. They all smell like burnt flesh, and I guess there’s a good reason why.
