When Good Marriages Go Bad

by Jeb on January 15, 2000

I noticed last night, most of my friends on the internet were having problems with their computers, but only those friends who use Windows. My Mac-using friends were fine. I’ve got a theory: Bill Gates is causing havoc now that he’s resigned as CEO of Microsoft and is screwing with our computers.

I’ve decided that Diet Coke is no longer the scariest soft drink out. (I’ve gotten over my prophylalanineaphobia). When I was at uni doing marketing, I did my marketing assignment on Dr Pepper, which at the time had been recently launched in Australia. Personally, I love Dr Pepper but I can see how a lot of people hate it.

One thing that was incredibly short-lived in Australia and didn’t last too long at all was Diet Dr Pepper. You’ll notice it’s not on store shelves anymore. It just tasted like someone had gotten an ashtray, added water and stirred it. Not that I’ve ever had an ashtray cocktail before, but anyway…

Personally, I never watch the TV show Better Homes and Gardens, but I found out today that Noni and John have actually divorced. Seeing as the show revolved around them renovating and decorating their family home, this could make things quite interesting in the show this year. The show may now be known as something like “Better Homes, Gardens and Flats”.

Picture it. For half of the show you have Noni creating arty craft things and redecorating her lounge room in her spacious, rich arse house… then we’ll cut to the other half of the show and John will be stuck out in a tiny flat somewhere in the western suburbs, as Noni got most of their assets and money when they divorced. John will be reduced to demonstrating how you can live without buying toilet paper, and how to live for a week solely on canned food (don’t forget to ring up for the fact sheets!)
